As a member of the Education Team for a student-led AI collective at UC Davis, I worked on expanding access to foundational AI concepts for younger learners. Our team developed and led hands-on sessions for high school students interested in emerging technologies.

Background

Collaborated with peers to create a series of introductory workshops on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing. Each session aimed to make complex technical concepts approachable, interactive, and relevant for students with little to no prior experience.

Overview

  1. Designed accessible, beginner-friendly lessons on core AI and ML concepts

  2. Facilitated live sessions with high school participants, including demos and Q&A

  3. Adapted session materials to different learning levels and interests

  4. Worked collaboratively to refine content based on student feedback

Responsibilities

  1. Introduced 50+ students to practical applications of AI and ML

  2. Helped demystify advanced topics through real-world examples and live engagement

  3. Strengthened confidence in teaching, curriculum development, and technical communication
